New city. New home. New focus.
I vanished.
They say consistency is key for a blogger so, knowing I wasn't going to be able to keep up, I just ... stopped. It was probably an excuse rather than a legitimate reason but in hindsight I did the right thing because the past 3 months have been chaos. It's a familiar old story; everyone can't believe where the year has gone but I genuinely can't.
Rewind to Christmas and Jay and I talked about moving in together but taking our time about it. We wanted to make sure that when we did get our first place in Liverpool, it was exactly what we wanted with no compromise. We were fortunate enough to be in the position that we didn't need to cut back on our outgoing so we pooled our funds for a VERY respectable budget and went on a slow but steady hunt for our perfect city centre pad. That conversation feels as though it was about 2 weeks ago.
By February we'd found the one. The biggest shock was we had different favourites throughout the whole process as we had agreed on the same priorities! We both wanted plenty of space, an office, a balcony and lots of natural light within walking distance of Lime Street station. But whilst I fell in love with the biggest city centre balcony I've ever seen, Jay's heart was stolen by a walk in wardrobe and an extra bedroom.
As soon as I walked into the building of what was to become our new home I knew I'd hit the jackpot. Don't get me wrong it was right at the top of our budget BUT on paper it had everything we wanted and more - 24 hour concierge (vital for getting those ASOS orders!) and on-site gym and secure parking. The estate agent told me that the last tenant was a professional footballer and we've since figured out who it was (he played for Everton and is now on loan down south).
Basically I'm living my dream.
I honestly couldn't be happier! So fast forward to present day and I'm settled, winning at life and packed full of motivation to kick start my blog again. You might have noticed that there's been a freshen up on the website. I recently took a trip to Morocco and found myself so inspired by the incredible colours there that I was keen to start over.

I took the basis of my new colour palette from this gorgeous cushion cover that I spotted in the gift shop at Le Jardin Majorelle. How stunning is that combination of colours?!
I've also decided on a new focus for the blog. I will always write about fashion; my love of clothing will never waiver but there's much more to my life than Primark hauls. So you'll find reviews of my trips abroad, life hacks for luxury on a budget and advice from my career as an Operations Manager too.
Last, but most definitely not least, is my YouTube channel. I have started to make videos! You can subscribe here and you can expect the videos to enhance what's written on my blog.
So without further ado, welcome to the bigger, better and most definitely brighter leannescaletta.com because the future is orange ... obviously.
